Genealogy

The Russell County Public Library offers a variety of research materials for patrons who are interested in researching their family history. In addition to local collections, two paid subscription databases are available. The first is Ancestry.com, which is available temporarily for home use. The second, HeritageQuest, is accessible from home or the Library.

Due to KYVL guidelines, we cannot provide the login credentials for Ancestry and other KYVL resources on our website. Please call the Library to request assistance.

Creelsboro Documentary

Voyageur and the Kentucky Archaeological Survey are pleased to announce that Creelsboro and the Cumberland: A Living History is now available free on Vimeo Pro for viewing and download.

In response to the COVID-19 shutdowns, the production team is making this one-hour, public television documentary even more accessible free to viewers, teachers and students.

Creelsboro and the Cumberland: A Living History examines the history and cultural heritage of a rural community along the Cumberland River in Russell County, Kentucky.
