Public Services Assistant – position description
The Russell County Public Library is looking for a part-time Public Services Assistant to join our friendly and helpful front desk team.
Qualifications: All applicants must be 18 years of age and be able to work a set weekly schedule listed below. The ideal candidate has a desire to learn and genuinely enjoys interacting with all types of people. Customer service experience is a plus.
Position Type: Part-time, 22.5 hours per week, max of 100 hours per month
Start Date: As early as July 18, 2022
Schedule: Tuesday OR Wednesday from 9:30 am – 6:00 pm; Thursday from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; Friday from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; and one Saturday per month from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Salary: $10-$13 per hour with starting salary dependent on education and experience

Responsibilities: Providing excellent customer and community service, greeting and assisting all people who enter RCPL at the public services desk, handling materials of all types and using various technologies, instructing patrons on use of library services, promoting library activities
